Access Living currently delivers one core program, with two additional programs on the horizon. Together, these programs will be united by a single belief: that every person deserves to live the life they have imagined.

Program 1 · Active

Supported Living

Individualized support for adults with developmental disabilities living in their own home or apartment — built entirely around each person's goals, preferences, and Individual Support Plan.

Support hours range from a few per month to 24/7, based on your DDA assessment
Personal care & activities of daily living (ADLs)
Skills training — cooking, finances, transportation, self-advocacy
Community access and social connection support
ISP implementation, documentation & goal tracking
Crisis prevention planning & behavioral support coordination
Licensed under WAC 388-101D · Funded via DDA Core Waiver · HCBS compliant 42 CFR 441

Community Inclusion

Our upcoming Community Inclusion division will provide individualized, integrated community activities for adults with developmental disabilities — focused on building real connections, skills, and independent participation in everyday community life.

Individualized activities based on each participant's interests and goals
Activities occur in typical integrated community settings alongside non-disabled peers
Skill development for independent living and community engagement
Socialization, recreation, education, and civic participation
Support for building natural community relationships and networks
Open to adults 18+ referred by a DDA Case Resource Manager

Community Inclusion (CI) is an individualized service that provides people with developmental disabilities with opportunities to engage in community-based activities that support socialization, skill development, and personal growth — all in integrated settings alongside community members without disabilities.

CPR & First Aid Training

Access Living will soon offer certified CPR, BLS, and First Aid training classes — open to the public, healthcare workers, schools, businesses, and organizations in Whatcom County and the surrounding region.

Adult, Child & Infant CPR — AHA and/or Red Cross certified
Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers
First Aid and AED (automated external defibrillator) training
Group and organizational training available
Classes taught by experienced, certified instructors
Ideal for DSPs, caregivers, schools, businesses, and the general public
Open to the public · No referral required · Group rates available DSHS-approved for DSP renewal hours
